Ian & Sally - before the adventure (AND before raising a family and spending 37 years working!)

A less welcome adventure

In 2017 we set off on what we termed a ‘grown up’ gap year which we saw as a time to discover what the next stage of our lives might entail.  What we didn’t envisage was that within a year of returning to the UK  Ian would  be diagnosed with a muscle wasting disease that would render him increasingly disabled.

This blog sets out to describe this continuing journey of discovery, both the good and the bad, without a clear understanding yet of where that will take us.

Please feel free to join us on what will be a rocky road with hopefully some bright moments on the way.
